MARQUEE TYPES

Blue Lake Hire has a wide range of marquee types and sizes.
There are three main types each with their own advantages.
Choosing is often just a case of your personal preference or budget.

ROPE & POLE
These are the “traditional” marquees. The roof is supported by centre poles and wall poles (or jacks). It is tensioned by guy ropes, which are tied to pegs about 2m out from the tent. They are erected by first laying the roof on the ground so it is important the site is unobstructed and level.
They are often considered to be the best looking style of marquee with their classical elegant shape.
Rope & Pole marquees may be lined inside, but it often isn’t considered necessary.
They are about the same price as frame marquees but much cheaper than structures.
They can go to a much larger size than frame marquees but need clearance around them for the guy ropes.

FRAME
These are a “newer” style of marquee without centre poles.
A metal tubular frame is constructed first and the vinyl roof attached to it before it is lifted on to its legs.
Ropes are used but much fewer than a rope and pole marquee, and they only come out a short distance from the marquee.
Frame marquees can be erected next to existing structures or buildings.
Like rope and pole they are a cheaper option than structures.
They can be lined to cover the metal frame and come in sizes from 3x3m (10’x10’) to 9x18m(30’x60’).

WALLS
Walls for the rope and pole or frame marquees come separate from the roof and are each 20’ in length.
They can be removed if desired, or unhooked and folded back to open the marquee up.
Walls can start at any position so the opening can be wherever best suits.
They are available as plain white, clear or arch windows.

STRUCTURES
Sometimes called pavilions, these are the premium option.
There are no interior poles or ropes as they are secured by pegs through the the base of the legs.
They are more expensive than either a rope & pole or frame marquee because they are more expensive to buy, and take longer to erect and dismantle.
They need virtually no clearance around the sides and can be constructed to virtually any size.
